In our years of traveling the back roads (and some very modern ones) in Africa, we have always aspired to identify the artistry that best represents the culture. And to give back to those cultures and people.

Africa is rich in colour and our objects reflect the powerful sun and light that permeates the landscape. Our stunning selection of beautiful and unique items ranges from ceremonial and utilitarian art to wire and fiber baskets.

ViAfrika's contemporary collection includes works by artists, artisans, crafters and a lot of very clever people who have no other means to earn a living other than creating with their hands. We have collected from many artists, such as the Nala family of potters from South Africa, Henry Phuka, carver from Malawi and David Jungara, toy maker from Zimbabwe. We also work with many non-profit self-help groups, such as Wola Nani (papier-mâché bowls and beaded work) and Leitsetele (stunning embroidered cloths) in South Africa.

Craftsmen and women, using indigenous raw materials and traditional methods, have hand crafted each item, ensuring authenticity and quality. Each piece has its own unique story and personality.
